This work reimagines a delicate watercolour of a Fuchsia flower, painted by Lieke’s grandmother, into a layered, abstract image. Photography and transparency create a subtle transformation, a conversation across generations. Fuchsia “Lady Gray” features a photograph screen-printed on four recycled acrylic plates: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. When layered, the full spectrum comes to life.

The 'Butterfly' series is a personal exploration of memory, transformation and connection. I photographed my grandmother's watercolors through glass and water, blurring colors and contours, just like memories in time. This meditative process gives me peace of mind as the art develops.
The name 'Butterfly' refers to the butterflies in which I often see my grandmother, symbols of transformation and freedom. This series celebrates the bond we share, while her spirit lives on in every piece.
