INTERVIEW BRIDAL AMSTERDAM

INNER PEACE THROUGH THE WORK OF LILXLYLILXLY

Written by Editorial Board BRIDAL

INSPITORIAL | Lil X lY lil X lY, you've probably come across this name before. For example in our article about NockNock art fair. The euphoria of our journalist and CEO Melvin Keijzer about this art, and especially the story of the brain behind this work, sparked further curiosity. EXPO: NEW STORIES

13 juli till 23 August 2023

Galerie de Ploegh welcomes 11 new artist members this year. They come together from various corners of the world for the exhibition 'NEW STORIES'. The exhibition takes you as a visitor on a journey through unique stories. Stories that become visible in the works of art from the individuality that is still new to us and the own perspective of each artist. The exhibition features a variety of media and styles: paintings, photography, digital works and 3D printed sculptures. Galerie de Ploegh is proud to introduce you to these NEW STORIES and cordially invites you to come and experience the power of their work. * Stories are no longer the stories we tell or read, but 'visual' images that we share with visitors.

‘METAMORPHOSIS’

De Bouwput - AGALAB - Amsterdam

At Metamorphosis Erna Basten & lilxlylilxly will show the work created during the residency at Agalab.

In our work the term 'metamorphosis' has several meanings, it refers to:

1 a biological process of transformation: developmental change in the form or structure of an insect or amphibian

2 spiritual transformation (of an individual, towards freedom, the play of life)

3 a literal changing of the forms and structures: seen as moving parts in the animation, and by use of transparency, vibrant colors and placement of forms in the prints. Furthermore, changing the (whole artwork) photography or animation from one form (digital) to another (analog) or the other way around.
